Summer is here and we’re trying to stay cool in the hot weather without skimping on style. With its scorching temperatures, this season can be a little tricky outfit-wise, so we spoke to four stylish creators to get the scoop on their summer style must-haves and go-to outfits.

Summer Style: Feminine and Colorful

I love sundresses with vibrant floral prints, puff sleeves, flowy skirts and fun seasonal accessories like headbands and hats.

Hot Weather Favorites

I'm all about matching sets because they make styling so easy, quick and cute! I especially love them for summer travel because they make packing simple and I can mix and match both pieces with different items for more styling options. I've been wearing this black skirt and tank set on repeat this season. I also love that it's linen since this staple warm-weather fabric is lightweight and cool for summer.

To stay cool, I love flowy fits and lightweight fabrics. Linen and cotton materials are great for hot days since they're breathable and comfortable. I opt for flowing sun dresses, baggy pants, or even an oversized button-up when I want to stay cool but still look put together.

Trending

I'm most excited about the butter-yellow trend. As someone who loves color already, I've been having so much fun adding bright pops to my outfits. Yellow is the perfect seasonal color for every sunny summer day! I also have worn butter yellow for formal events like weddings and have received so many compliments.

Summer Travel Plans

I'll be spending a full month in Europe this summer and I can't wait to plan tons of dreamy ensembles. While I do love bright and bold colors, I'll be packing more neutral and tailored looks for this trip. Bringing a similar color palette helps create more outfits with fewer items in your suitcase, allowing you to repeat pieces while still creating a new look. I'm especially loving the trending vest sets — I think they look so classy and effortless.

Summer Style: Laid-Back

I'm living in T-shirts, specifically graphic tees, paired with midi and maxi skirts. However, as a Caribbean girl, I love bright, vibrant colors and prints, so I always incorporate them when I'm going to a summer event or attending an outing.

Hot Weather Favorites

I love off-the-shoulder tops — so much of my style features this look. There’s something bold and sexy about showing off your shoulders, and I like to pair these tops with skirts and denim.

To stay cool, I like to go bare-faced, or wear very light makeup and put on some sunglasses. Sunglasses are my go to because you can find ones that complement your outfit and they’ll always make you look cool, even on the hottest days in summer.

Trending

I enjoy seeing plus-size women wearing tennis and pleated skirts, baring their legs, this season. This trend is super cute and fun. I also still love a good matching set. They’re just easy to wear because you can create multiple outfits out of them.

Summer Travel Plans

For me there’s no traveling this summer, I’ll be traveling in the fall!

Summer Style: Comfort and Where Chic Meets Fun

Bright colors, crisp whites and creams, flowy fabrics, strong silhouettes and interesting textures that evoke a timeless, vintage feel like a 60s or 70s twist on Euro Summer. I’m a sundress queen and I adore a flowy skirt, so I’m loving the hyper-feminine trends of bows, ruffles, tiered skirts and fluttery sleeves that seem to trend each year around this time. I’m finding myself drawn more and more to natural fabrics, too. They’re breathable and feel good on the skin. Think: cottons, linens etc. anything gauzy, floaty and cool.

Hot Weather Favorites

Some of my favorite pieces in my summer wardrobe are tiered skirts and summer corset-inspired tops (that old big bottom tiny top or tiny top big bottom style hack—it always hits!). I also love a colorful silk scarf tied as a top. I really lean into accessories in the summer months too. Statement earrings or layered necklaces — anything with seashells has my heart, though a flower choker can do the trick too. My must-have is a pair of chic sunglasses, oversized or funky shapes, and a straw market bag. I’m also convinced the perfect crochet or colorful knit is a must.

I’m happy about the return of the boxer pants and shorts. If you’re giving me a pass to wear pajamas out of the house and look cool, it’s a yes. I’m here for the drop waist dresses, the colorful, boxy and breezy Scandinavian-inspired style we’re seeing (those puff sleeves, tie-front blouses!) colorful sneakers, ballet flats and chunky accessories — charm necklaces, statement belts and big sunglasses. As always, linen, natural, breathable fabrics are a must. Being a curvy girl, a must for me is wearing a bike or Cooling short under dresses for comfort and to prevent chafing.

Summer Travel Plans

I’ll be heading to Italy this summer so I’ll be packing lots of swimwear and coverups that can be styled into chic outfits on top. I love wearing swimsuits as bodysuits, and a flowy cover-up set. I’ll be packing lots of breezy skirts and dresses, too, along with chic accessories to elevate the looks. I’m packing a pair of raffia lace-up ballet flats and a whimsical food-print dress that I’m quite excited about too.

We’re also doing a couple road trips up the coast of California, and for that I’m thinking shorts with colorful graphic tees, skirts and sneakers and funky trucker hats and raffia cowboy hats.

Summer Style: Comfortable and Light

As a new mom who also lives in Florida, I want to make sure I'm as comfortable as possible to keep up with my little one. I love dresses, skirts and anything that requires little effort but still appears put together.

Hot Weather Favourites

Linen button-ups and pants in the summer are a must! A simple linen button-up can be worn to run errands, out to the pool or dressed up with tons of accessories. I also really love crochet pieces, especially ones that show off your back or are off the shoulder.

Don't forget about the power of accessorizing! When you're wearing less clothes because of the heat, you can really add some personality by adding hats, sunglasses, necklaces and rings. You can even take advantage of fun nail colors or designs.

Trending

I love the vest and trousers trend, because I'm a fan of sets that can be worn together or separately. A cute vest can be paired with a skirt or jeans, and a great pair of trousers will always be in style. If you're wearing a simple set, add a pop of color with a bag or increase your accessories. I'm also loving the charm necklace trend.

Summer Travel Plans

I'm keeping it lowkey this summer and doing a staycation in Palm Beach! I'll be packing a linen set from The Gap, Hermes Oran Sandals, Madewell sunglasses and my Sand by The Sea Chanel Bag that has real sand inside. Most of the pieces I invest in are neutrals, so that I can easily mix and match.
