Frequently Asked Questions

Our shorts are made of a mix of Pima—the champagne of cottons, which is extra-soft and extra-durable—and modal, a natural fiber that's resistant to shrinkage and pilling. Together, they create a texture that’s as luxurious and velvety as a Sade song.

We’re glad you asked. Think of them as a combination between an old-school slip, a boxer brief and a bike short: They give you coverage under short or too-sheer outfits, stop your inner thighs from trying to start a forest fire, and light smoothing with no VPL (the word “panties” weirds us out, too). Plus, the knit-in cotton-rich crotch means you can wear them without underwear if you want, eliminating the need for an extra layer.

Thigh Society shorts don’t compress you or suck you in like shapewear. Instead, they’re a lightweight, breathable, sweat-wicking essential you’ll reach for again and again.

Flexible and stretchy, our waistband is made from the same fabric as the shorts, just double-folded and sewn-in. It stretches to your curves, never cuts into them. The waistband is like the Loch Ness Monster: you’ll doubt it really exists.

Beautiful fabric but noisy when I walk

The fabric feels luxurious and the slip shorts go on so easily. But when I walk the noise of the material rubbing is very loud. So loud I can’t wear these. Terribly disappointed.

Longer slip shorts? Yes!

These are great. I love the thin, silky texture of The Cooling. The 12 inch moves the light horizontal line under my exercise pants to just above the knee rather than the eye-catching mid-thigh, exactly as I hoped. My next pair will probably be the 17 inch, also perfect for yoga pants and similar.

Game Changer

These are a game changer for me! I live in a very hot humid country and with my cooling shorts I went from hot and uncomfortable to cool and relaxed. In fact I liked them so much I bought two more pairs.
Best purchase!

Disappointed

I have a condition called lichen sclerosis, which, among other things, causes itching and sensitivity in the groin area, so underwear that has a band around the leg openings is irritating. I ordered these in hopes of eliminating that problem.

For that particular issue, I am satisfied. However, another issue with lichen sclerosis is that I need to have a cotton crotch. (In general, I prefer cotton clothing, anyway.) I was disappointed that even the "cotton" only contain 38% cotton, but I thought since the description said they have a "knit in cotton crotch" that that would be sufficient. Well, it really isn't. I don't know how much cotton is actually in the crotch area, but it isn't comfortable. It's hot and causes perspiration, especially when worn under other pants. So I'm left to wearing these at home under a gown or bathrobe, or possibly under a dress (I rarely wear dresses) once warmer weather comes.

I won't be buying more unless Thigh Society decides to make cotton underwear that are actually cotton. $40 for a single pair of underwear is a lot under the best of circumstances.
